10. The Last House On The Dutch Island

Located in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, Dutch Island was once where fishermen and farmers lived but now is a diminishing land mass with no one in residence. In 1888, a dwelling was constructed, but it was soon at odds with the quickly shrinking coastline. The previous owner, Stephen White, put in much effort to preserve the property, but he eventually failed to overcome the power of nature, so both the house and the island were eventually lost.
