The Airedale Terrier, also known as the “King of Terriers,” is a large breed of terrier that originated in the Aire valley in Yorkshire, England. They are known for their intelligence and adaptability, and have been used as police dogs, search and rescue dogs, and even as ratters on farms. Airedales are strong and athletic, with a wiry outer coat and a softer undercoat. They come in a variety of colors including black, tan, and red, and are known for their distinctive “otter tail.” Airedales are generally friendly and outgoing, but can be strong-willed and may require firm training.
