3) Norwegian Lundehund
Vaeroy, a rocky island off Norwayโs coast, is the native home of the Lundehund, a small breed. The long winters were once survived by Islanders by hunting puffins and retrieving them from crevices using the Lundehund. The Lundehund has six toes (not dewclaws) and extra paw pads, which enable him to jump across rocks. The Lundehund is smart, affectionate, and has an elastic neck that allows his head to touch his spine as well as ears that move forward and backward or even shut. Check your dogโs ears regularly to avoid a buildup of wax and dirt, which could result in infection.
