The Border Collie type of canine was created to round up and govern sheep in the hilly region at the frontier between Scotland and England. They are recognized for their strong gaze, or “eye,” which they use to lead their herd. They are animals with inexhaustible energy, strength, and motivation to work, all of which make them an outstanding herding dog; Border Collies are still employed today to herd sheep on ranches and farms around the globe.
